Immigration permits and visas for Cameroon
The country offers various permits and visas provided that the foreign national and country he/she is originally from qualifies.
Valid for up to 90 days
Visas are required for all foreign nationals from the UK, USA, Australia and EU countries. However, other foreign nationals must check with their embassy to confirm requirements for visas to Cameroon.
All visas must be coupled by a legalised letter of invitation, and the individual must show return or onward tickets as well as have proof of travel insurance along with a valid polio vaccination certificate.
The business visa must be coupled with a company letter that shows proof and guarantee of stay within the country whilst on business. It must also state the reason for visit and if the applicant was assigned to work within the country the signed contract of work should also be present.
The Employment visa must have proof of employment at a company within Cameroon. The employment contract should accompany the visa along with authorisation to work within the country by the Cameroon government.
Tourist and business visas are valid for 3 months with a possibility of extension. If it is a Short Stay Visa, it must be accompanied by a “letter of invitation” from family within Cameroon and must be signed by authorized personnel.
The Student visa must be accompanied by an official letter from the institute at which the applicant wants to study. The applicant must also supply proof of finances for the duration of study and where they will reside during the time.
